Frequently asked questions
Before You Book
Answers to the questions travelers commonly ask before requesting a permit.
How much does a gorilla habituation permit cost?
The official tariff depends on visitor category and travel date. Request a quotation for the current applicable rate and any disclosed service charges.
Can I book a gorilla permit without a safari package?
Yes. A permit-only booking may be arranged, subject to availability and the booking provider’s terms. Accommodation and transport can be organized separately.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as practical, especially during popular travel months. Permits are limited, and availability must be verified for your chosen date.
What is the difference between trekking and habituation?
Standard trekking typically allows up to one hour with a habituated group. Habituation offers a longer observation experience with a group undergoing habituation, subject to UWA rules.
Is my permit confirmed when I submit this form?
No. The form is an enquiry only. Confirmation follows a verified reservation through the appropriate booking channel.
